The next instalment in the legendary DJ-Kicks series comes from Chicago’s Eris Drew, delivering a selection of rapturous house, blissed-out breaks, and transcendent rave. A DJ, producer, musician, longtime Smartbar resident, and co-creator of the T4T LUV NRG party and label, Eris has been shaping dancefloors since the early ’90s with her ecstatic energy and uncompromising mixing style.
Her DJ-Kicks mix runs for 79 minutes and, in her words, captures “the funky, emotional, ecstatic house-and-breaks backbone that defines my sound.” The selection features tracks, remixes, and exclusives from artists including Moby, Calisto, DJ Garth, Onionz, DJ Who, Kair, Hoof, and Toka Project, alongside contributions from Eris herself and Octo Octa.
Built from countless hours of digging, the mix moves through rattling breaks, rave stabs, and haunting strings, pairing classic and overlooked ’90s house-and-breaks tracks with newer discoveries. Put together on two turntables and a mixer in her New Hampshire cabin studio, it was shaped not simply as a collection of club tracks, but as a deeply personal journey charged with atmosphere, feeling, and release.
More than three decades of vinyl mixing experience are distilled into every transition, cut, scratch, and spinback. Many of these records have travelled the world with Eris for years, and their rawness and age remain intentionally preserved. The result is a mix that fully embodies the Eris Drew sound: emotional, physical, uplifting, and unmistakably real.
